Theatre, Film and Television Designers was founded in 1943. The professional organization main interest is contributing scenographers’ cultural policy. The union membership consists of 260 professional scenographers who are working in the field of performing arts: at the theatre, opera, dance, circus, film and AV and TV productions.
The union has 75 years been taking care of the scenographers’ interests in professional questions. The union is a co-operation partner of the Finnish OISTAT Center.
The union is one of the ARTSCENICO’s founding members. ARTSCENICO is European federation for costume & production design. The federations principle aims are to create a professional network to meet and exchange at a European level.
Theatre, Film and Television Designers organizes courses for its members and actively contributes the work of its members, for example, in the form of exhibitions. The KUVITELTU TODELLISUUS [IMAGINED REALITY] is the virtual exhibition that celebrates the 75th anniversary of the union. In the online exhibition Finnish scenographers are presenting their artistic work on their own designer’s webpage — these numerous web pages form a virtual exhibition web site. The union distributes also award: The Theatre Design Award; Film and TV Designer of the Year award and Student Scholars of the Year.
The Theatre, Film and Television Designers invites the members at least once a year to discuss the content of the organization’s activities.

Finlands Scenografförbund rf är ett av fackförbunden som hör till Fackförbundet för teater och media Finland (Teme). Teme är Finlands största fackförening för konst- och kulturbranscher och representerar scenkonstnärer och dem som jobbar i mediala och audiovisuella branscher: konstnärer, designers och freelancers.

Finlands scenografförbund grundades 1943
Organisationen förenar branschens yrkesfolk och anordnar skolning, delar ut pris och befrämjar de professionellas förmåner och deltar i den kulturpolitiska debatten tillsammans med Teme.
Förbundet har 260 medlemmar, och de arbetar inom sektorn för scenkonst inom teater, opera, danskonst och cirkus samt i mediabranschen
Förbundet är medlem av OISTAT-centret. OISTAT är den internationella organisationen för scenografer, ljus-, ljud- och videodesigners, teatertekniker och –arkitekter.
Förbundet är medlem i ARTSCENICO, som är den organisation som samlar AV-branschens och filmbranschens europeiska scenografer och kostymörer och dess mål är att sammanföra dessa i en förening, vars syfte är att skapa ett europeiskt, professionellt nätverk för scenografi och kostymdesign Föreningen grundades 2018 www.artscenico.com
Förbundet´s styrelse har under sitt 75-års jubileumsår 2018 organiserat och producerat nätutställningen Kuviteltu todellisuus som skall kompletteras varje år. Utställningen visar upp sina medlemmars konstnärliga planeringsarbete med bilder, text och videor: https://kuviteltutodellisuus.fi/
Förbundet delar årligen ut Årets designer- priset under Den inhemska filmens vecka samt ett stipendium för studier.
